State Meet Highlights Top Performances:
- Freshman Carlie Queen of Summit Christian Academy broke a Class 2 meet record with her 5-7.75 high jump clearance. She was also third in the pole vault. Top Teams:
Top Competition: One of the best high jump competitions of any state meet came at Class 3 in Missouri. Landon Bartel of Southern Boone made 7-0 (US#11) to tie the championship meet record and Harvey Kendall of Grandview cleared 6-10 (US#35) for second. Record-breaker: Jones, Long, Werner, Barge and Rivera all broke all-time state records this spring but Carlos Davis' performance at the state meet in the discus ring stands out. He got the big throw right when he needed it and got a US#1 mark in the process.
